WASHINGTON, DC, November 18, 2011 –Celebrity chef, author and television host Ingrid Hoffmann recently shared her favorite Chilean Hass Avocado recipes with viewers across the country through a 40-minute culinary demonstration broadcast live over the Internet. The first-time event provided Hoffmann’s fans a rare opportunity to virtually cook alongside one of America’s most popular celebrity chefs. The demo was timed to kick off the annual Chilean Hass Avocado season, which runs from September through March.
“Chilean Hass Avocados are one of my favorite go-to ingredients because they provide a creamy texture and rich flavor, and add monounsaturated fatty acids to almost any dish,” said Hoffmann. “It was a thrill to share my favorite recipes with a live audience and to receive their immediate feedback.”
During the presentation, Ingrid fielded viewers’ email questions and demonstrated how to prepare a diverse selection of recipes. The demo began with Ingrid’s Avocadolicious Sauce, a simple, no-cook spread that can spruce up sandwiches and also be used on toast as a butter alternative.

Hoffmann’s Farmers’ Market Roasted Vegetable Salad in Avocado Bowls is a delicious example of one of the many versatile meals that can be made with Chilean Hass Avocados.
Hoffmann also shared her recipe for Mango Tomatillo Guacamole, a fresh take on the traditional dip, spiced up with serrano chilies, cilantro and mint.
For a main course, Hoffmann presented Farmers’ Market Roasted Vegetable Salad in Avocado Bowls. This unique recipe calls for a colorful combination of fresh vegetables served in an avocado half. She recommended the dish for a “Meatless Monday” meal – a movement that encourages folks to reduce saturated fat intake by eating one meatless meal per week that contains foods rich in monounsaturated fats like avocados.
“Ingrid’s culinary knowledge, warm personality, and passion for Chilean Hass Avocados made her the perfect host,” said Maggie Bezart, Marketing Director, CAIA. “The engaging format of the virtual culinary demonstration allowed viewers to feel as if they were cooking in their own kitchen with her, and the recipes she shared are easy and delicious.”??
