CELEBRITY CHEF INGRID HOFFMANN SHARES SEASONAL TIPS AND RECIPES DURING NATIONAL SATELLITE MEDIA TOUR

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 20, 2011—Celebrity chef and lifestyle expert Ingrid Hoffmann, host of “Delicioso” on Telefutura and “Simply Delicioso” on The Cooking Channel, and spokesperson for the Chilean Avocado Importers Association (CAIA), was recently the featured guest in a holiday-themed satellite media tour (SMT). To date, the first-time event has generated 124 TV and 21 radio segments, including Spanish-language media, and reached a total audience of nearly 4 million.

During the interviews, Hoffmann talked about the seasonality of Chilean Hass Avocados and demonstrated their versatility for seasonal entertaining, showcasing crowd-pleasing recipes in line with today’s small plate trend. Among them: Yummy Avocado SopitaAvocado and Corn Tostaditas, and Vuelve A La Vida Shrimp Cocktail. She also shared tips to minimize holiday stress, including being realistic and planning a menu based on time and budget availability and incorporating seasonal fruits and veggies for the best flavor.

When asked by many of the reporters how she keeps her own energy level up during the holidays, Hoffmann explained that staying active and eating nutrient-dense foods helps her keep up with a hectic schedule. “I’m partnering with Chilean Hass Avocados to remind folks that avocados are nutrient-dense and contribute good fats and nearly 20 essential vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients!”

“Ingrid’s culinary expertise, warm personality and genuine passion for Chilean Hass Avocados made her the perfect spokesperson to share seasonal holiday tips and recipes,” said Maggie Bezart, Marketing Director, CAIA. “The SMT was also a natural extension of the family nutrition PSA's that Ingrid recorded last month, which we distributed to 400 Hispanic radio stations nationwide.”
