THE CHILEAN AVOCADO LOVERS CLUB

The Chilean Avocado Importers Association (CAIA) considers its supermarket retail partnerships as the cornerstone of its marketing efforts to successfully increase U.S. consumer demand and consumption of Hass Avocados from Chile.

As a result, the CAIA created a national platform to reach consumers in a way that was customized for the market area of each supermarket retail partner.

Starting September 1, 2009, the CAIA asked U.S. consumers to join the "Chilean Avocado Lovers Club" and enter the So Good, So Many Ways Random Drawing for the chance to win $250 in free groceries or a free official soccer ball.

There will be 260 consumer winners from across the United States.  CAIA is conducting general market media outreach in that chain’s market area to promote the contest and its winners.  Each partner chain is guaranteed to have at least:

  • Two grocery gift card winners who each receive $250
  • 10 official soccer ball winners

In each produce department of our partner supermarket chains, the CAIA is communicating the exciting club and special random drawing through a brand new in-store Chilean Avocado display unit that contains handy ripening bags and a colorful sweepstakes tear–off pad. 

The Chilean Avocado Lovers Club contest officially ended February 15, 2010. Winners will be announced on the website after April 5, 2010.

On the CAIA’s Chilean Avocado Lovers website (http://chileanavocadoloversclub.com/), consumers also signed up for periodic “Avocado Love Letters” (e-newsletters) containing recipes, usage ideas, nutritional information and promotional initiatives.
